"Art is the thing making life more interesting than art." Robert Filliou
My work, as a lot of other contemporary artists, cannot be encapsulated. It has multiple forms, mediums and is based on transversality.
Art is this thing helping us to get an other look to the reality. And Maybe it helps us to make the difference between "being" and "feeling" free.
I'am interested by the autonomy of things and maybe more by their links. The Body takes a large place in my work as a material. I use it to ask space, time and also our meanings.
Where and when things are beginning, ending or suspended ?
Can we really say that there's a better way to ?
Are the things i testify really what i believe ?
My inspiration comes from life. Starting from common things and small details, i try to built a poetic and ironic puzzle mixing humor and melancholy. My esthetic position is shared between
spontaneity and the will to realize beautiful forms. As in life, things i realize must keep the possibility to continue, to transform themselves. I keep in my mind this well known theory :
nothing is disappearing, nothing is creating, everything is transforming ! Are things really changing or is it simply our position, our point of view ?
The video first, then sculpture, installation and performance become my support to talk about this strange balance in which we are living.
If i want to be an artist it's for asking what is art, what it could be ? But it's also to have the chance and the pleasure to share new ways of looking, new ways of thinking about the world with
those who composed it. So, we can reinvent it in measures belonging to us.
"If you really believe in what you make and if you make it as well as you can, it is going to give a certain degree of tension. If you really get tired, if you try to stay for a long time in balance on a foot, you can awaken a certain sympathy, in the strict sense to the one who looks at you. It is a kind of physical echo, he feels this foot, this tension." Bruce Nauman
